ARTS & CULTURAL PROGRAMS

Guerilla Arts Ink, LLC is a Certified Business Enterprise (CBE), and approved local and federal government vendor, born and based in Washington, D.C.  Learn more about the dynamic program offerings for schools, after school programs, and youth-serving organizations we offer.  New teaching artists and courses updated each season. 

Current Offerings

1. HARAMBEE DRUM CIRCLE

“Harambee!” is an engaging, hands-on experience for children to celebrate learning through movement and song. In Swahili, Harambee means "all pull together." This program will offer an inclusive and creative space for youth and families to practice hope, possibility and compassion – all the things that happen when we all come together!

Baba Ras D is pleased to offer this interactive program for children to explore, express their voice, dance, play drums and percussion instruments, shout, or sing-along to songs that build character, confidence and community. Baba Ras D's "Harambee" will be a source of inspiration for children and their caregivers.

2. WORDS LIVE MEDIA LITERACY WORKSHOP SERIES - "Remix English Class with Music that Students Love"

Using the WordsLiive Beta Platform, which combines contemporary literature with the lyrics of popular songs of any genre.  Ideally used in co-teaching and collaboration opportunities with ELA or Social Studies classes, as well as a stand-alone after-school workshop option. (for students 6-12th grade)

4. SCHOOL ASSEMBLY

3. HIP HOP EDUCATIONAL LITERACY PROGRAM - H.E.L.P.

An interactive workshop using Hip Hop lyrics and culture cues to contextualize current events, social issues, trends, and common themes through the use of our cornerstone workbook series and multimedia presentation format. (For students grades 6th-12th grade, scaffolded for ALL reading levels)

5. PAINT N SIP EVENT (for Students) 

An opportunity for creative expression for students grades 4-12, guided by a professional visual artist.  Final projects made within 60-90 minutes.  Includes delivery and setup of ALL paints, brushes, canvasses, easels, water cups, drop cloth and other necessary supplies. (For up to 50 participants each session)

6. PAINT N SIP EVENT (for Teachers) 

An opportunity for creative expression for teachers of all grades and content areas, facilitated by both a professional, visual artist and an instructional coach. Participants will also be guided through a series of prompts to promote collaboration, self-reflection, and re-centering of purpose.  Final projects made within 90 minutes.  Includes delivery and setup of ALL paints, brushes, canvasses, easels, water cups, drop cloth and other necessary supplies. (For up to 50 participants each session

7. BARBERSHOP TALK: MANHOOD 101

In a workshop session that feels much like a morning at the local barbershop, students will discuss sexual health and hygiene,  and have an opportunity to get all of their questions answered by a licensed physician or health professional. Topics to be included will be: healthy sexual relationships, HIV and STI prevention, proper hygiene, grooming, and the characteristics and responsibilities of manhood.  Three barbers will also be a part of the session to provide grooming tips and techniques.
